Soteria is a mythical goddess of safety and preservation from harm. Use of the Soteria Bed Barrier assures that every patient is on a sound barrier surface that is 99.9999% free of pathogens through the use of its' proprietary laundry process.
Trinity Guardion set out to develop an engineered solution to re-process hospital mattresses and bed decks between patients, in place of current ineffective and costly manual cleaning systems. The Soteria® Bed Barrier is a 510 (k), FDA cleared medical device; Level 4 barrier. It is designed to protect the mattress and bed deck from patient fluids. Its highly repeatable laundry process assures that every patient is on a sound barrier surface that is 99.9999% free of pathogens. Unlike manual wipe and walk, one step cleaning/disinfection processes that are ineffective and decay mattresses, the Soteria Bed Barrier helps to preserve the integrity of mattresses and support technologies while reducing labor costs for the reprocessing of the mattress and bed decks.
In 2019, ECRI Institute named patient surfaces the #2 health technology hazard. Trinity's mission is to help ensure patients are on a clean, sound surface. Creator of the industry-leading hospital mattress and bed barrier, Trinity Guardion invested approximately six years of research, clinical testing and published studies before launching Soteria® Bed Barrier in 2010. With a vision of advancing patient safety through reduced cross-contamination and better infection control, the founders named the hospital bed protection system after the Greek goddess of safety and preservation.
