OUR STORY

Built Around One Simple Question.

Is there a better way to protect the hospital bed between patients?

Trinity Guardion was founded around the belief that one of the most important patient surfaces in healthcare deserved a more controlled, repeatable approach to protection and reprocessing.

WHY SOTERIA?

SOTERIA

Named for the Greek goddess associated with safety and preservation.

A Name That Defined the Mission

The founders chose the name Soteria because it reflected the purpose behind the product: helping preserve and protect the patient environment.

The goal was not simply to create another mattress cover. Trinity Guardion set out to develop an engineered system for protecting the hospital mattress and bed deck while creating a repeatable process between patients.

THE PROBLEM WE SAW

The Bed Was Being Cleaned. But Was the Process Controlled?

Hospital beds and mattresses are reused across thousands of patient encounters. Yet traditional reprocessing relies heavily on manual cleaning of complex surfaces, mattress covers, seams, and bed components.

Trinity Guardion began with a different idea: rather than depending solely on cleaning contamination after it reaches the mattress, create a physical barrier that helps prevent that contamination from reaching the mattress and bed deck in the first place.

FROM IDEA TO HEALTHCARE SOLUTION

Years of Research Before the First Launch

Trinity Guardion reports investing approximately six years in research, clinical testing, and published studies before launching Soteria in 2010.

RESEARCH

Build the Evidence

Product development was supported by years of research, clinical testing, and validation.

2010

Soteria Launches

Trinity Guardion introduced the Soteria® Bed Barrier as a reusable healthcare bed-protection system.

EVOLUTION

Protection Becomes Measurable

RFID, barcode identification, and digital tools expanded the system beyond physical protection.

TODAY

Soteria + EcoSystem

Trinity Guardion now combines reusable physical protection with digital inventory, lifecycle, and compliance visibility.

HOW WE THINK

Protect. Reprocess. Inspect. Verify.

The Trinity Guardion approach has evolved, but the core philosophy remains the same: build a system that makes patient-surface protection more repeatable and more accountable.

01 Protect

Place a physical barrier between patient contamination and valuable bed surfaces.

02 Reprocess

Move barrier reprocessing into a controlled healthcare-laundry workflow.

03 Inspect

Examine the barrier between patient uses before it returns to service.

04 Verify

Use identification and digital tracking to make the process more visible.

CONTINUING TO EVOLVE

From a Bed Barrier to a Connected System

Soteria began as an engineered solution for physical bed and mattress protection. The system has continued to evolve as healthcare organizations increasingly require visibility, documentation, and accountability.

EcoSystem extends that philosophy by helping facilities identify barriers, manage inventory, monitor lifecycle status, and better understand movement throughout the organization.
